# MCP Clients

> Connect the Bland MCP server to ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code, Claude Desktop, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or any coding tool

For Bland Agents work, the recommended setup is the [Norm plugin](https://docs.bland.ai/integrations/mcp/norm.md) (`norm@bland`): the MCP server plus Bland Agents skills and `/norm:*` commands on supported hosts. Start there for installation details and host-specific limitations.

To connect the server directly, without the plugin, pick your client:

Every client except ChatGPT uses the same two values:

* **URL:** `https://api.bland.ai/v1/mcp`
* **Header:** `Authorization: Bearer YOUR_BLAND_API_KEY`

Get your key from the [dashboard](https://app.bland.ai/dashboard/settings). Keep tool-approval prompts on for the Bland server: tools that place calls or publish agents have real-world side effects.

ChatGPT [signs in with Bland](https://docs.bland.ai/integrations/mcp/oauth.md) instead: add the URL as a connector and sign in when ChatGPT opens Bland. Claude and Claude Code can sign in the same way instead of using a key. Sign-in will apply to the other clients once dynamic client registration is available.
